Stretching is important in improving flexibility in order to best prepare your body for exercise and functional activity. Improved joint and muscle range of motion is critical to performance and longevity, whatever your sport or activity. Stretching also improves posture, improves circulation to joints and muscles, decreases pain, and decreases stress. We can all likely agree that we can stretch a little bit more than we do. If you’ve ever had anyone assist you with a stretch, you know how great that feels, and you may even be able to get a deeper stretch and relaxation than when you repeat with self stretching.
Stretching is a component of wellness that we are adding to our offered services here at What Moves You? You do not need a doctor’s order, you can schedule as needed or as a regular service. Sessions will be offered in 30 minute sessions plus 15 min segments as desired. Soft tissue or joint mobilization work will also be available as add-ons, and will be discussed as needed. We will also offer Kinesiotaping services as an add-on in an effort to stabilize an unstable joint or inhibit an overactive muscle that is preventing desired flexibility.
